Our Story
It all started with a vision to see physical and economical change in a small village.A Life’s Work
In June 2016 Ignatius Makonese lost his life, the effects of his passing were felt far beyond the immediate family.
Ignatius and his wife Edna had made it their life’s work to bring about physical and economical development to the village of Kwesere in Gutu.
After the passing of her father Patience Makonese Chijoko travelled to Gutu and was amazed at the number of people gathering at her family’s house requiring assistance. She decided that in order to carry on the legacy her father and mother had established, she vowed that she would support Makonde Primary School and bring about change hence making an impact in the community.
Since then, Patience has been able to supply the school with stationery, IT equipment, clothes, shoes and funding donated by friends and family.
It is the vision of the Ignatius Foundation to see Makonde Primary School and the surrounding community of Gutu transformed. There are countless communities that need physical and economic transformation and it is our aim to see most if not all of them transformed for the better.
Will you join us in transforming these communities?
